Battroborg Warrior Battle Arena Set Samurai Vs Ninja
The Battroborg Warrior– Battle Arena Set Samurai Vs. Ninja features a motion-control battle experience. Control your warrior as he enters the battle arena by moving the wireless controller in a specific sequence. Move the controller up the warrior will strike up and step forward left, move the controller down and the warrior will strike down and step forward to the right, or move your controller up and down to continuously strike. In addition to the three basic moves, each warrior is also programmed with special moves that can be found on the Battroborg website or in the instruction booklet, like the Auto Drone where you can program your warrior to move on its own for two minutes.

It took a little bit of training to learn how to control the robots. At first the boys would continuously move the controllers up and down and around, but we found that with one precise action at at time, moving the controller up, or moving controller down, the robots controlled much better.  If the remotes were continuously moved, the warriors would do whatever they pleased including getting stuck in the corners. With training, it became easier to control the warriors and since the remotes use infrared beams, they need to be within 3 feet and pointing at the robot. For this reason, the recommended age is 6+ as younger children like Trevor (4) are too focused on moving the controller around continuously and cannot get the robot to always do what he wants.

Battroborg Warrior– Battle Arena Set Samurai Vs Ninja
The Battroborg Warrior– Battle Arena Set Samurai Vs. Ninja requires 8 AA batteries in order to play. There are four batteries in each controller that are also used to recharge the warrior robot. In order to recharge the batteries, you will need to plug the robot into the controller, 20 minutes of charging equals about 20 minutes of play. The downfall of this set is that you will go through a number of batteries as the batteries are working double, to power the controller, as well as to recharge the robot. While we try to always use rechargeable batteries, for the price point it would have been convenient to have an ac adapter charge the robot and/or controller, or to have rechargeable batteries included.

This Battroborg Warrior set is a perfect gift for my nephew. He would have tons of fun playing with this. This is a great present for me to get!

  2. At first I thought of my nephew when I saw this toy. However, after seeing how many batteries it would take to play it as well as the “20 minutes of charging equals 20 minutes of play.” My sister would not be happy with me if I got this for him. I’m going to have to keep looking for something that’s great and entertaining without having an added expense after we buy it.
