Make Firecracker Marshmallow Pops for the 4th of July!

Firecracker marshmallow pops are packed with a flavor explosion.  Just one bite and the pop rocks will start exploding in your mouth. This is one 4th of July treat that the kids will be talking about for days.

This fun, delicious, and easy dessert combines two of my children’s favorites, chocolate covered marshmallow pops and pop rocks. You can’t make a fun patriotic dessert much easier than adding three marshmallows to a straw, covering them with some melted chocolate and sprinkling on some pop rocks.

Make them into a party favor by placing them inside cellophane bags and adding a decorative twist tie.

What you’ll need to make these patriotic pops:

  • White and red candy melts
  • 36 Regular Sized Marshmallows
  • Cookie sticks or paper straws
  • Pop rocks

Step by Step Directions:

  1. Melt the candy melts in a glass microwave safe bowl on 50% power for 30 seconds and then continue to microwave on 50% power in 15-second intervals until completely melted, stirring in between.
  2. Add three marshmallows to each straw.
  3. Dip or use a spoon to spread the chocolate on each marshmallow. These firecracker pops are dipped in white chocolate and drizzled with red candy melts.
  4. Sprinkle with pop rocks
  5. Place on a prepared baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Use a toothpick to make a hole in the top marshmallow. Add a thin piece of black licorice for the fuse (optional)
