I have been anxiously awaiting the Olympics to watch one of my favorite events, ice dancing. My grandmother got me hooked into ice skating many years ago, I can remember it just like yesterday sitting in our living room with my mother and grandmother cheering on the Olympians. During the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi I was most excited about Meryl Davis and Charlie White’s ice dancing performance and they did it, they’re bringing home the GOLD!!!
Did you know that the ice-dancing duo has been skating together longer then any other U.S. ice dance team? 1997 to be exact. It’s no wonder why their performance was flawless, 17 years of hard practice paid off. Meryl and Charlie grew up in Michigan not too far from my in-laws and while Meryl learned to skate at the age of five, Charlie has been skating since he was three. His parents wanted him to learn how to skate so that he could skate with friends when he got older, I’m sure they never imagined him to be an Olympic Gold Medalist years later.
After practicing for the past 17 years together, and coming in second place in the 2010 Olympics, Meryl & Charlie know how hard it can be. Often spending hours upon hours practicing daily in winter-like conditions with falls and bumps in between, and I’m sure a few tears. This winter, Puffs is helping Meryl Davis and Charlie White at the 2014 Winter Olympics to put their best faces forward. The everyday tissue is gentle and soft on the skin during the cold winter conditions, and the only facial tissue needed to help wipe away tears of joy.
Meryl and Charlie attribute their success to their mothers, and without their mother’s standing behind them 100% they would not have made it to Sochi. Their mothers have wiped away their tears of defeat as well as success, cheered them on during competitions and practices while sitting in cold stands and stood by beside them in times of heartache.
