Red, White, & Blue Cupcake Cones

Looking for a red, white, and blue dessert for your 4th of July party?  Learn how to make these patriotic no-mess cupcake cones that are sure to cause a spark at your next celebration.

Patriotic Cupcake Cones

My mother made something very similar years ago for my birthday and they were a huge hit. I was reminded of them this past winter when she surprised me with a new baking accessory, the Ice Cream Cone Cupcake Baking Rack which make for quick and easy Cupcake Cones.

Unlike a typical cupcake where kids get their hands and clothes covered in frosting, these red, white, and blue cupcake cones are a fun and mess free way to serve cupcakes, and there’s no cupcake wrappers to pick up.

Red, White, & Blue Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes:

To make this 4th of July dessert you will need:

Directions:

Prepare cake mix according to directions. Separate cake mix evenly into 3 bowls, add red food coloring to one and blue food coloring to another, mix until well blended. Leave the third bowl white.

Fill each cone about 3/4 full of batter, alternating with the red, white, and blue colors. Use a toothpick or butter knife to swirl. Make sure not to over mix as colors will blend.

Bake at 400 degrees F for 15 to 18 minutes or until inserted toothpick comes out clean.

Frost when cooled, frost and top with sprinkles or patriotic cupcake decorations (Fun Pix).

*To get the red, white, and blue swirl, separate white frosting into three bowls, add red food coloring to one, and blue food coloring to a second. Mix until well blended. Use the Wilton Color Swirl with the 1M tip to create the swirl pattern.
