2 Easy Red White and Blue Desserts
Need a last minute Red White and Blue dessert for the upcoming 4th of July weekend? Easily turn a batch of brownies or Rice Krispies treats into a patriotic dessert using red, white, and blue candy melts and patriotic sprinkles. Simply cut them into square or rectangle shapes, or if you have a star shaped cookie cutter on hand, make them into stars. If you are pressed for time, you can even pick up store made brownies & Rice Krispies treats, and decorate them yourself.
Red White and Blue Brownies:

Ingredients:
- Brownies
- Red, white, and blue candy melts
- Patriotic sprinkles
Directions:
- Make your favorite brownie recipe, or pick up pre-made brownies.
- In 30 second intervals melt candy melts in a microwave safe container, mixing in between, until melted. Place melted candy into a ziplock bag and snip the end of it. Drizzle candy over brownie.
- Top with patriotic sprinkles.



Red White and Blue Star Shaped Rice Krispies Treats:

Ingredients:
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 package (10 oz.) pkg Marshmallows OR 4 cups Miniature Marshmallows
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- Red, white, and blue candy melts
- Patriotic sprinkles
Directions:
- In large saucepan over low heat melt butter. Add in marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
- Add Rice Krispies cereal. Stir until well coated.
- Using buttered spatula or wax paper evenly press mixture into 13 x 9 in pan coated with cooking spray. Allow to cool.
- Use star shape cookie cutter coated in butter and cut out star-shapes.
- In 30 second intervals melt candy melts in a microwave safe container, mixing in between, until melted. Place melted candy into a ziplock bag and snip the end of it. Drizzle candy over Rice Krispies treats.
- Top with patriotic sprinkles.






Those are all great ideas! I make Christmas tree brownies at Christmas time, but hadn’t thought about making star brownies for the 4th of July. Thanks for sharing.
I like the concept of these treats. If your pinched for time store bought can be jazzed up easily with frosting and sprinkles.
