Pass the Purple Purse & Help Fight Against Domestic Violence

Disclosure: ” This post is part of a sponsored campaign with The Allstate Foundation and MomSelect. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

October is not only Breast Cancer Awareness Month but it is also Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and sadly I have known of a few women who have suffered from domestic violence, one as recently as last month. In a couple of these situations two of the reasons the women stayed in the relationships so long was due to fear and financial difficulties of living on their own.  With Allstate’s Purple Purse campaign, we can help make the difference in the lives of domestic violence victims, and help put an end to emotional and physical abuse.

Allstate Foundation‘s Purple Purse Campaign:

Purple Purse, The Allstate Foundation’s symbol for domestic violence, proudly represents a woman’s way to escape the cycle of abuse by gaining financial independence.  Now in its third year, The Allstate Foundation’s Purple Purse campaign has pledged to donate up to $350,000 to the YWCA for programs designed at assisting survivors of domestic violence and other women in need.

As part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, The Allstate Foundation is sending more than 1,000 purses carrying domestic violence information throughout the country. I received one myself that I will pass on., and just like the other purses, it will be passed between co-workers, friends, and family, sparking important conversations along the way while providing valuable information about warning signs and support.

BSM Virtual Purse Pass Card

Each time a virtual purple purse is shared or re-shared, The Allstate Foundation will make a $5 donation to YWCA – up to  $350,000.
