One of my favorite thing about playing sports in my middle school and high school years was feeling of belonging to a team. I couldn’t wait until it was time to purchase custom sweatshirts, pants, and jackets to proudly display my affiliation. Even years later, I still occasionally wear my high school softball sweatshirt. With both of the boys in sports, I have already heard about the personalized sports apparel, “Mom, everyone has it!” especially once hockey season began. We had already purchased a few personalized hockey sweatshirts and jackets last year, I made sure to get them a little big so that the boys could wear them for a couple of years since they grow so quick, but the only problem is that this past summer we moved to a new town, and their white/green apparel sporting our old town name and team logo, wasn’t cutting it.
Their new team colors are now black & red, and Jonathan has been anxiously wanting a new warm up jacket to wear to practices, since all of his friends from school have personalized sports apparel. I had planned to purchase a few custom t-shirts and a jacket for Christmas, but when given the chance to order from MyLocker, I decided to surprise him with a new custom warm up jacket for hockey.
MyLocker is a website that offers over 500 customized items, in all different sizes and colors, from infants all the way up to adults. You can make your own T-Shirt, customize a hoodie, fleece, jacket, polo, warm up pants or a bag in less than 30 seconds. There is no minimum to purchase which makes it easy to create personalized gear for yourself, your child’s school or sports team, charitable organization or for a family reunion, purchase 1 or purchase 100. To browse through a list of ideas, enter your school name, pick a sport, hobby, or affiliation, you can also narrow down the ideas by choosing a specific product to customize.
Knowing I wanted custom jacket for hockey, I narrowed down the ideas by selecting hockey. I also chose the team colors, and they automatically appeared on all of the products I browsed through as well as the personalized text. The images for hockey were limited with the Sport-Tek® Youth Fleece-Lined Colorblock Jacket compared to the T-Shirts but the hockey puck caught Jonathan’s eye and he was set on having the puck on his jacket. Jonathan was hoping to add his name to the sleeve like his previous jacket but that option was not available, there was only the option to personalize the front top left corner of the jacket with up to three lines of text.
Most products ship within two days, and can be delivered within as little as 3 days but since I was in no rush I chose FedEx SmartPost and my custom warm up jacket was delivered in just over a week, which was impressive considering it only took one day to customize and the rest was in the shipping option I chose. Jonathan is more than thrilled with his jacket and wears it every where, the fleece liner gives him added warmth as the weather cools down. For Christmas, the Youth Customized Wind Pant would be perfect to match his jacket. I can also see myself ordering a custom Hockey Mom sweatshirt to cheer him on during the games.
