Ask my three year old my favorite beverage and he’ll immediate let you know it’s coffee. It’s pretty bad when both my 5 and 3 year old can tell you that I like my coffee with extra cream & sugar with just a little ice. I got hooked on iced coffee senior year of high school and have been addicted since. This past week Brew Over Ice sent us a box full of goodies and I got to try out a few new refreshing iced beverages with my Keurig® brewer including The Original Donut Shop® Sweet & Creamy Regular Iced Coffee, Sweet & Creamy Nutty Hazelnut Iced Coffee, Snapple® Peach Iced Tea, and Lemonade.
This past week it was pretty humid out so after spending the day outside riding bikes, swimming, and boating, a cool and refreshing iced coffee hit the spot while the kids and my husband enjoyed their lemonade. I’ve never really been a fan of Hazelnut, but I decided to give it a try as an iced coffee, although it was nice to sip on a cool drink after being outside in the hot all day, I prefer the original.
On our Keurig® brewer to make an iced drink you enter the menu and on the “select brew size” option select the cup of ice, if your brewer does not have an iced option select the 6oz or 8oz option. Fill the cup with ice, place in the K-Cup of your choice, close the top and select Brew. Within seconds you’ll have a single serve cool beverage in your hands.
I’ve never made anything besides coffee with our Keurig® so the kids were excited to see that lemonade could be made with the “coffee” maker as well as iced tea. Since the kids are not allowed to drink coffee, they were excited that they could be included. We filled up a cup with ice, the kids each got to pick what they wanted to drink, iced tea or lemonade, and within seconds they had a cool and refreshing drink in their hands. My husband is not a fan of iced coffees, just hot coffee so I can enjoy my iced coffee while seconds later he can have a hot coffee all from the same . machine.
I’m hoping by next summer they’ll have a strawberry or raspberry lemonade available – two more of my favorite summer time beverages in addition to iced coffee.
