Christmas Tree Cupcakes Made with a Sugar Cone

Uncategorized

If you’re looking for a fun Christmas activity to do with the kids this Christmas, I’ve got you covered!  Set up a table with sprinkles and edible glitter and let the kids decorate these Christmas tree cupcakes.

Christmas Tree Cupcakes - Made with a Sugar Cone

Every year it is a tradition to decorate sugar cookies on Christmas Eve, but this year we are trying something new, decorating Christmas tree cupcakes. The boys helped me bake vanilla cupcakes, and while I was decorating the sugar cone green the boys were going through the cabinets finding the “perfect” sprinkles for ornaments. Once I was finished frosting the tree with green frosting we lined up a bunch of sprinkles and the boys decorated their own tree.

Before getting started, here’s what you’ll need to make these Christmas Tree Cupcakes

  • 12 Cupcakes
  • Two 16-ounce tub vanilla frosting
  • Sugar cones
  • Wilton Tip #233
  • Green food coloring
  • Edible glitter / decorative sprinkles

Directions to make these Sugar Cone Christmas Tree Cupcakes:

  • Frost cupcakes with white frosting, sprinkle with edible glitter.
  • Mix remaining frosting with green food coloring.
  • Frost cones with a thin layer of green frosting and press onto top of cupcake. You can omit this step, but by applying a thin coat you’ll make sure you don’t have any bare spots.
  • Using Wilton Tip #233 on a decorating bag, pipe frosting on the sugar cone to create a Christmas tree.
  • Serve as it or decorate with sprinkles & edible glitter.
