The slim line drives are great for what I consider temporary backups and moving data between computers for example. As long as this is mirroring your data on the laptop and vice versa then great. I just wanted to comment that if you were to lose the Seagate drive that you have easy access to 100% of the data that is on that disk. I always ask people "how do you backup your backup?" Happy snapping.

I have a Seagate external hard drive and it is has not given me any trouble so far, but I'm wondering if a portable drive would be better! This slim version seems much more easier to connect and easily transfer files while being small enough to take everywhere. And 500 GB is a lot of space!
