Kari P- my crockpot doesnt switch to low either, I bought a cheap timer at Bed bath and beyond, or wal mart, and can set the time for 6 hours or 8. I too am gone for 9 hours or better depending on lacroose practices! The timer shuts off the crock pot and it remains nice and hot when we arrive.

Has anyone tried this cooking for 8-10 hours? I leave for work at 6:30 am and am not home until 4:30. My crockpot does automatically switch to warm but I wasn't sure if the longer cook time would be a problem.
