It seems like such a small thing, cords on blinds, but they can be deadly. We live in a rented home & it has corded blinds. We don’t have small kids around, but I still either take the blinds down or tie the cords up very high so no kid could reach it.

These are good tips! My son is a bit older now but we do have cords on our blinds and I honestly haven’t given much thought to that when kids may potentially be coming to visit!

We had blinds like this for years, in nearly every place we lived, with no idea how dangerous they were. It’s scary how much harm they can do to little ones!

We replaced all of the blinds with curtains in our house when we moved in.

We actually removed all our corded blinds, and went to curtains instead. So important and something we do not think of as new parents.

I remember having them when my kids were young and we knotted them up because the kids wanted to twist themselves with the cords.

Yes, I do have one corded blind in my house by my door but I don’t have young kids here. I really need to get more blinds and will make sure they are cordless. Thank you for the post.

This is good information. Even people who are trying to make sure hazardous materials, etc., are all locked away, they might not be thinking about the cords. Thank you for posting.

We make sure that all of the window blinds cords are tied up way up high out of our grandsons’ reach.

I had these in my windows years ago. I am so glad I don’t anymore. How scary.
