I was looking for freezer crock pot meals to make for my neighbors who just had twins. I liked that this gave 2 meals from each recipe. That way I split it up between them and us! Their favorite so far has been the Teriyaki Chicken. I really liked the chili. ( I doubled the chili recipe in order to make enough for both families) -- But every recipe has been great! Also, because I found a 20 # bag of Great Value frozen chicken breast at Wal Mart for a little under $20, it really only cost around 5$ per meal. ( $50, total) There were 28 chicken breasts in the bag! More than enough to include a lot of meat in each bag!

I made the Maple Dijon Glazed chicken. It was so delicious!! I love the simplicity of the recipe yet the zesty from the Dijon and the sweet from the maple makes the taste much more intricate then the recipe leads on. This is a winner!

I just want to say thanks for having so many simple and DAIRY FREE options! My son is allergic to dairy and there are so many recipes out there that are not dairy free. I am starting my first week of frozen to crock pot meals next week. Can't wait to try them!

What a great idea! I plan on doing this one shop/prep/freeze method. I can create recipes that will work for our family, organic, low sodium, gluten free but love the prep idea. Thanks!

Hi Jennifer, I split the listed ingredients into two bags and I have made it numerous times without it burning and I know a number of friends who have made it without an issue. Maybe your slow cooker cooks at a higher temp. Maybe try cutting the cook time down to 6 hours. Just like ovens, the slow cooker temperatures can vary.

Hi Kari,

I also had the Maple Dijon Chicken burn in my crock pot. The recipe stated that it would make two bags so I divided the 4-6 chicken it called for into two and a half pieces in each bag. With the ingredients divided (like you had said, two make two meals) there didn't seem to be enough liquid for my 5QT crock pot. I guess I'm wondering why you said to half the ingredients for two bags but now say you never halved it? Should the stated ingredients be for one bag so this won't burn? I'm was super excited to try this first recipe of your 23 but I am now staring at a very dark sauce and dry chicken....with a rather unpleasant smell. :(
