Fun School Lunches Ideas With The Rubbermaid LunchBlox

This post is brought to you by Rubbermaid.

Thanks to meal prepping, meal time in our house has been a little more organized. I not only try and make a recipe list each week, but I also prep the kids school lunches. Some weeks I prep all of their lunches on Sunday, while other weeks I will at least make them the night before.  Not only did sending in a home prepped meal save money, but it allows me to see what and how much he was eating. While Jonathan’s always eats all of his lunch, Trevor sometimes will only pick at his.

The Rubbermaid LunchBlox reusable containers have made it easy to send lunches to school and also to prep in advance. I have a few sets now, and will pick and choose which container goes best with what I am making, there are four different size containers. The freezer packs are convenient, not only do they keep the food cold, but they also prevent all of the containers from sliding around.

While Jonathan will eat peanut butter sandwiches everyday without a complaint, I love seeing the excitement on his face when he comes home from school telling me how cool his lunch was.

Some of their favorite lunches include:

  • Rollups
  • Make your own pizza
  • Salads
  • Fruit or lunchmeat on a wooden skewer
  • Sandwiches made into fun shapes with cookie cutters
  • Cheese, crackers & turkey

While I enjoy spending time and making the lunches fun, it doesn’t have to take a lot of time,  just simply cutting a PB&J sandwich with a cookie cutter can add excitement and fun to a child’s lunch.

Each of the boys also use the Rubbermaid LunchBlox medium Lunch Bag which stores the LunchBlox, snacks and a water bottle perfectly. The style of the bag allows the food to stand upright, and it fits nicely in their backpacks without tossing the food inside all around.

What do you like to pack in your child’s lunchbox?

I saw that lunch container in the store and wondered how it would work. Thanks for the review. It looks like a great way to get more creative with my son’s lunch.

I would love to have these for my granddaughter’s lunches. I would like to know where you purchased yours. I have not seen these in the stores but went to Rubbermaid website and it looks like I can order online from Target but would like to find locally if possible.

I love these for our lunches. We usually do leftovers from the night before or a sandwich or wrap along with a piece of fruit and some yogurt or hummus for packed lunches.
