New Step2 Toys for Spring 2012 | Tropical Island Resort | Review & Giveaway

Step2 is a well known name in our house, the boys have a variety of indoor and outdoor Step2 products that they absolutely love including the Gather & Grille Playhouse, the Lifestyle Master Chef Kitchen the Traditions Table & Chairs Set Review and my favorite the Step2 Big Splash Pool that I was able to find on Craigslist a couple summers ago. Step2 products are durable and have been known to last for many years and with two rambunctious little boys, durability is a must. Our Step2 Big Splash Pool has lasted through a number of families and it is still as good as new minus a few paint splatters on it from a previous owner. We have had the pool for two years so far and I'm sure we will have it for at least a few more before we pass it on to another family.

New Products for Spring 2012:
This spring Step2 has released some new outdoor toys including the 4-In-1 Rock N Stroll Rider, Dockside Sandbox and Climber, Big Splash Water Park, Adjustable Sand & Water Table, and the Tropical Island Resort. As part of the Step2 Mom Test Drive team I am excited to have the opportunity to try some of the products first hand!

Step2 Tropical Island Resort:
Little Man and Baby Boy were ecstatic when the Tropical Island Resort showed up on our doorstep, Little Man instantly saw the picture on the side and noticed it was a water table, he was jumping up and down with excitement and asked me to take it out of the box so he could play.

The Tropical Island Resort was fairly simple to set up, it does include some screws so I recommend an electric drill to get it done easier and faster but a drill is not required. The directions were clear and contained a number of pictures to help put the water table together. There is one step, attaching the light brown island piece ,that recommends the help of two people, I tried to do it myself but needed my husbands help.

The Tropical Island Resort is bigger then I imagined, and is more then large enough for both of the boys to play together. The three legs are screwed in and very study so you do not have to worry about the table falling over. The water table comes with a 16 piece accessory set that includes a mom, dad, boy, girl, monkey with spinners, leaf with spinners, fish & dolphin squirter, slide catapult, cup, boat, pivoting gate and net, octopus carousel and post with 2 swings. The Tropical Island Resort provides hours of fun and excitement, it allows Little Man and Baby Boy to use their imagination. Little Man loves having the mom and dad talk with the girl and boy, they each take turns going down the slide, riding in the boat and seeing who can stay on the octopus carousel the longest.

The Tropical Island Resort is great for outdoor summer fun and addition umbrella is available to purchase to help keep the little ones out of the shade. In addition to being used outside the Tropical Island Resort can also be used inside, although I do not recommend putting it on carpet since water can be splashed out. It was a little cold and rainy outside when we received the Tropical Island Resort, they boys were so excited to use it that I decided to set it up in our mud room and let them boys go to town. When they were finished my husband helped me pick up the water table and dump the water out in our big utility sink.

Overall, the boys had a blast playing with the Tropical Island Resort. Baby Boy is perfectly content on playing with it even with no water, he loves pretending to have the people figures swim around and especially loves playing with the rubber fish and dolphin. There is plenty of open space for multiple children to play, and I was happy to see that there was a number of characters included (mom, dad, children, fish, dolphin) so each child can have at least one.
