Our family loves to make spaghetti, pizza, & nachos with salsa. Recently we had the opportunity to try Dei Fratelli products. Dei Fratelli is a fourth generation family owned company that makes a variety of tomato products including pasta sauces, salsa, chopped tomatoes and pizza sauces . They take great pride in knowing that their products are made of the finest ingredients and all of  their tomato products are grown from seedlings that they cultivate themselves. Almost all of their products are gluten free

Before this review I have never heard of Dei Fratelli. Their products are distributed primarily in the Midwest, Central and Southeastern states but their product distribution area is expanding daily. Hopefully they will come to the Northeast soon.  I was only expecting to receive 1 or 2 products to try but look at everything I received! I was excited when I opened the box, 10 new Dei Fratelli products to try!

I Received:
  • Black Bean n' Corn Salsa Medium
  • Caesar Salsa Mild 16 oz.
  • Original Salsa Medium
  • Pizza Sauce
  • Chopped Mexican Tomatoes & Jalapenos
  • Tomato & Basil Pasta Sauce
  • Seasoned Diced Tomatoes
  • Petite Diced Tomatoes
  • Marinara Sauce
  • Fire Roasted Vegetable Pasta Sauce

I have been craving chicken parmesan so I was excited when I opened up the box to see all the new flavors of the pasta sauces. Of course that night I made Chicken Parm, I made it with the Tomato & Basil Pasta Sauce. We had it with Ziti and I also made it with sub rolls since Hubby wasn't in the mood for Ziti.

Chicken Parm:
Ingredients:
Chicken Breasts (we got a lot more than usually since we had family over)
Progresso Bread Crumbs: Italian Style
Tomato & Basil Pasta Sauce
3 Eggs
Shredded Mozzarella Chesse
Ziti or Sub Rolls

Directions:
If you want Ziti: Boil the water and then place the Ziti in for 8-10 minutes.
For the Chicken. I mixed up the eggs, dipped the Chicken Breasts into it and then covered them in bread crumbs. I then cooked the chicken until they were no longer pink in the middle. After they are fully cooked, pour the Tomato & Basil Pasta Sauce in the pan, heat on medium so the sauce will warm up, top with Mozzarella Cheese.

The Tomato & Basil Pasta Sauce was delicious. As soon as I opened the jar the kitchen, the whole room filled with a mouth watering smell, it made my stomach start rumbling, and I could not wait to finish cooking so I could eat. You can see the chunks and some of the ingredients, and it had a nice rich flavor.

We have also had the Marinara Sauce with Mozzarella Sticks and mixed the Original Salsa Medium with Velveeta Cheese to make a Nacho Dip. Both were delicious and I cannot wait to try the rest.

Starting October 1st, Dei Fratelli  will be running a "Most Ripened Recipe" contest. To celebrate National Tomato Month. All you have to do is enter your recipe for a chance to WIN Dei Fratelli Products for a Year!
