Little Man loves story time every night before he goes to bed. We have been reading the same books over and over so I was excited when I learned I was going to be reviewing Funny Bone Readers, by Red Chair Press

I received the Parent Pack 1 & 2. Both packs came with 6 books each. Each Funny Bone Reader book teaches about a good behavior. There are 6 different behaviors: Trustworthiness, Fairness, Respect, Responsibility, Caring, and Citizenship.

I love how the books have silly characters and are funny while they help children develop good character and teach them right from wrong.

Parent Pack 1:
Includes 6 books, One from each trait: Fun in the Mud, Let’s Bee Friends, The Magic Words, Space Cat, Turbo Turtle to the Rescue, Silly Tilly and the Royal Rules.

Parent Pack 2
Includes 6 books, One from each trait: The Best Birthday Gift, Lying Around, Squid and Pickles, Miss Moo Goes to the Beach, Helping Hands, The Clean Team.

Both Sets are recommended for children who are between the ages of 5-8.

These books are not only good for teaching your child how to read but they are great for story time with the younger children. Little Man had a blast going through all of the books. He will not be able to read for a little while but he loved pointing to all of the different things and repeating what they were, or after reading a page I would have him point to a certain object.

I love the ocean and fish so my my favorite book was "Helping Hands." In "Helping Hands" Ocho the Octopus learned that kindness gets returned by those he helps.  Ocho helped out his friends and when he needed help his friends helped him back.

All of the books are short and sweet with catchy phrases. They have great photos that are bright and interesting. The books are also the right size for a beginner reader. There are not a lot of pages which is also a plus for story time. I dread when Little Man pulls out a 30 page book that takes an hour to read.

I love how the back of the books have a "Big Question" section, and a "Big Words" section which lists big words used in the book and a short description of what the word means.  The question is a great way to get your child to interact and to learn while having fun.

The Big Question in "Helping Hands" was "Did Ocho's friends like it when he helped them? How did they thank Ocho?" The Big Words were "octopus, seaweed, and snuggles."

The Parent Pack 1 and Parent Pack 2 sell for $24.95 each.

Overall I give the Funny Bone Readers an A+. They are great books whether you use them at home or at a school. They will be getting a lot of use at our house.
